Entrepreneurial Internship Program
The Entrepreneurial Internship Program (EIP) enables first-year Booth students in the Full-Time MBA program who demonstrate continued interest in entrepreneurship the opportunity to gain experiential learning that is critical to becoming a successful entrepreneur. It also provides companies with the opportunity to employ top MBA talent.
Through a competitive application process, a limited number of first-year students are selected to participate and receive financial support to supplement their entrepreneurial summer internship salaries.
Value of the EIP:
“The thing I found most valuable was probably having so much freedom and autonomy to work on complex projects that actually had a major impact on the company’s direction and success.”

Application and Eligibility
Application Components
The EIP application consists of a student’s resume and completion of an online application with two short essays describing the student’s interest in entrepreneurship and their internship.
Startup Eligibility
Students apply to be considered for EIP funding once they have secured an internship from a company that meets the following criteria:
- Company has annual revenues between zero and $50 million
- Company has 1-100 employees, and the intern will be working directly for senior management
- Intern must receive reasonable compensation from the host firm, but not more than $11,500 for the 10-week-long internship
- Company has launched in the last 7 years
- Polsky Accelerator teams are unable to employ an EIP intern
Selection
Students who apply to the EIP may expect a decision within 2-3 weeks of submitting their application. We encourage companies to post opportunities through the Career Services Global Talent Solutions (GTS) system. All EIP-approved jobs in GTS will have “EIP Approved” in the job title.
Please note, EIP job posting approval does not ensure a subsidized intern will be secured, as the award is based on the student’s application, and stipends are awarded on a rolling basis until program funds are completely distributed for the year.
