The South Side Business Development Internship provides an opportunity for University of Chicago College students to gain valuable consulting experience working on projects with local community businesses.
The program pairs Polsky Exchange member businesses with students for quarter-long projects in customer discovery, social media management, and web development.

Eligibility
Students
- All full-time College students at the University of Chicago (students in UChicago graduate programs are not eligible)
- Preference given to:
- Students with experience in Social Media Marketing, Customer Discovery, and AI Implementation
- Students with interest in community businesses and small business operations
Businesses
- Must be current Polsky Exchange members in good standing
- Must be located in the City of Chicago
- Must show need in one of the following areas:
- Social Media Marketing: content and engagement automations
- Customer Discovery: AI-powered market research and customer discovery
- AI Implementation: web development, chatbots, and custom GPTs that give first-line responses to common customer inquiries, and customer service automations
