With a record-breaking 20 teams accepted into the 2020 Summer Accelerator Program, the Polsky Accelerator Demo Day this year becomes Demo Days.

Taking place virtually from August 31 to September 4, each session will begin with an industry-focused panel of experts and investors to provide insights into their industry about what’s to come for the remainder of 2020. Participants will have the opportunity to network with the Accelerator teams after the presentations.

SCHEDULE //
Monday, August 31: Consumer, Health, and Wellness
Tuesday, September 1: Social Enterprise
Wednesday, September 2: Tech: Marketplace and SaaS
Thursday, September 3: E-Commerce

Partners include the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, University of Chicago Career Advancement, UChicago Innovation Clinic, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), and Accountalent.

The Accelerator is made possible thanks to donors Donna and Phillip Zarcone, MBA ’87; Zayo Group and The Caruso Foundation; the Rudnick-Earle Fellowship; and Leah Kathryn Consulting.

Launched in 2012, the 10-week Polsky Accelerator gives University of Chicago students and alumni startups the opportunity to work intensively and solely on their businesses and social enterprises in a collaborative and dynamic environment over the summer. Each company was selected through a competitive application process and received a resource package including equity funding, office space, mentorship, and coaching from faculty, investors, entrepreneurs, and staff.

The Polsky Accelerator company portfolio has risen to 72 teams, and alum companies have raised more than $30 million in funding – with three companies having been acquired.
