New Money: InContext Solutions Raises $15M to Bring Virtual Reality to Retail
InContext Solutions has raised $15.2 million in equity funding, according to an SEC filing. Founded in 2009, InContext uses virtual reality to help retailers simulate real in-store shopping situations in order to test merchandising, display, layout and other in-store shopping experiences. With the company’s ShopperMX software, brands can create and manipulate 3D simulations of retail environments and visualize new concepts before rolling them out, testing things like aisle placement, shopper flow within the store, and general building layout.
