Stuart Porteris the founder of Denham Capital Management and serves as the firm’s CEO and CIO. Porter brings almost 30 years of senior investment experience to Denham Capital and serves on the investment committee and the valuation committee. Prior to founding Denham Capital, Porter was a founding partner of Sowood Capital Management and, prior thereto, was employed as a vice president and portfolio manager at Harvard Management Company where he focused on public and private transactions in the energy and commodities sectors. Porter began his career at the Chicago Board of Trade as an independent trader in the bond pit and, post graduate school, worked on the GSCI desk at J. Aron, the commodities division of Goldman Sachs. Porter received a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Chicago Booth.
