Mustafa “Mus” Chagal is a serial entrepreneur and an adjunct assistant professor of entrepreneurship at Chicago Booth. Additionally, Chagal is an entrepreneur-in-residence and faculty coach at the Polsky Center. Chagal has been a long-time judge and mentor for the Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge, advising numerous early-stage companies. Chagal is an advisor at Dentons global legal practice. Previously, he was the CEO and chairman of the board of UICO, a venture-backed company with proprietary touchscreen technology. For almost 20 years, Chagal has been involved in international private label manufacturing and distribution of products and components for the industrial and building materials sectors in the US. He started his entrepreneurial career in 1999 at FastWeb, a technology startup that became the destination site and search engine for college-bound students looking for scholarships, as well as the prominent one-to-one marketing and customer acquisition platform for companies targeting the youth market (acquired by TMP Worldwide). After receiving an MBA, Chagal was recruited by Booz Allen & Hamilton and helped launch their office in Istanbul. Chagal joined Ameritech Executive Development Program after college and held several senior corporate and operating positions with increasing responsibilities in the telecom sector. Chagal holds a BS in computing and information science and math from Roosevelt University and an MBA from Chicago Booth.
