After a 40-year career in various corporate and government roles, Mark Ernst now manages Bellevue Capital, his private investment firm.

After graduating from Chicago Booth in 1986, Ernst spent 12 years at American Express. He moved from there to become chairman and chief executive officer at H&R Block, Inc. for a 10-year period. Ernst served as deputy commissioner at the Internal Revenue Service for 2 years before joining Fiserv, Inc., one of the world’s largest fintech companies, as chief operating officer, a position he held for 7 years before his retirement in 2018.

In addition to his MBA from the University of Chicago, Ernst earned a BS from Drake University, where he is a member of the Board of Trustees. He serves as chairman of the board of the Financial Health Network, the nation’s leading consumer financial services advocacy organization. He currently and has previously served on the boards of directors of several public companies.
