Application Deadline: Rattan L. Khosa, ’79, “Against All Odds” Award
In 2018, Chicago Booth alumnus, Rattan L. Khosa, ’79, established the Rattan L. Khosa Student Entrepreneurs Program structured to directly support Chicago Booth student entrepreneurs.
Rattan has an inspiring story – one that demonstrates hard work and perseverance. Rattan first came to the United States from his native India with just $3.25 in his pocket, and in 1981 started AMSYSCO, a company that provides post-tensioning systems on commercial structures, out of his basement. Overcoming countless hurdles, Rattan has grown AMSYSCO into a highly profitable company that today captures some 70% market share. This annual prize will be awarded to a graduating student who has overcome hurdles to launch their business.
This award is open to:
Any Full-Time, Evening, or Weekend MBA Program student graduating within the 2023-2024 academic year (Summer ’23, Fall ’23, Winter ’24, Spring ’24) who has overcome obstacles and demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit and grit to launch or significantly grow a new venture. This student will have benefited greatly from Polsky Center programs and the entrepreneurship curriculum to advance the venture. The venture should have an established revenue stream and sustainable business model and be poised for growth post-graduation. While there is no minimum GPA required, the student must have achieved the entrepreneurship concentration and shown leadership at Booth and in the greater business community.
The application deadline is 3:00 pm CST on Friday, April 19 2024.
