The Physical Products Incubator is a six-week long program designed to help inventors and innovators go from idea to prototype.

Instructional sessions are held in-person at the Polsky Exchange North, 1452 E. 53rd St, 2nd Floor, and the Polsky Center Fab Lab, 1463 E. 53rd St., 2nd Floor. The program meets on Tuesdays from 2-5pm.

Week One [April 11]: Introduction to Customer Discovery and Low-Fidelity Prototyping

Week Two [April 18]: Introduction to the Fab Lab and 2D and 3D Design Software

Week Three [April 25]: Financial Projects and Market Sizing, + 3D Design Software Part 2

Week Four [May 2]: Prototyping in the Fab Lab

Week Five [May 9]: Introduction to Presentations

Week Six [May 16]: Final Presentations

Outside of the sessions, participants will be expected to create digital design files and at least two prototypes, as well as conduct at least 10 customer interviews. Guidance will be provided to assist in designing customer interviews, and training will be available on necessary software. Participants should expect to commit at least 10 hours per week (including instructional time) to this Incubator.

Founders must be 18 or older. Founders should be able to use a keyboard and mouse and access the Internet. No previous prototyping or business experience is required.
