In her role as Director of Strategic Partnerships, Amelia Salter drives collaboration with a range of external partners, aligning resources and relationships to strengthen the Polsky Center’s mission and the founders it serves.
Amelia brings extensive experience building strategic partnerships and programs across both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Polsky, she worked with a boutique marketing agency to develop comprehensive marketing and communications strategies for Fortune 500 and startup clients in healthcare, life sciences, and MedTech. Previously, she served as Senior Director of Programs at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, where she managed a portfolio of programs and initiatives that provided educational content, resources, and business services to Chicago’s business community. Before joining the Chamber, Amelia spent nearly four years with the University of Illinois System’s Office of Economic Development and Innovation forging new partnerships to connect the university’s R&D assets, faculty, students, and alumni with diverse stakeholders across the state.
Amelia holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor of arts in communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She currently serves on the associate board of Chicago:Blend, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in Chicago’s venture capital and startup community. In her spare time, Amelia enjoys traveling, reading, and trying out new recipes.
