Meet Polsky Member of the Month: Brigitte Anderson

October 2019 Polsky Member of the Month, Brigitte Anderson

Polsky member Brigitte Anderson an MBA ‘08 graduate who is currently pursuing an MS in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Chicago joined the exchange back in Summer 2016.

She joined the Polsky community due to her keen interest in guiding fellow entrepreneurs.

Brigitte first became an entrepreneur herself after living abroad in Sub-Saharan Africa and realized the value of technology and innovation and how it can transform societies. As a result of her experience, she founded and is now a Principal at Orange Vista LLC, a boutique consulting firm focused on market research for growing enterprises.

Brigitte is a mentor at the Polsky Exchange and is in her 5th cycle as a coach for student consultants of the Small Business Growth Program which pairs top student talent from the University of Chicago to provide hands-on consulting support aimed at addressing specific business challenges and determining new strategies for growth. Brigitte coaches the student teams on client relations, market research, and strategy.

She was drawn to the programming at the Polsky Exchange and specifically noted the “various forms of entrepreneurship that take place and how one can to carve a niche in a way that can be most helpful. I became very interested in learning more about the Polsky Exchange and the role universities, among other entities, played in supporting all types of entrepreneurship.”

Brigitte’s biggest piece of advice for members of the Polsky exchange “Get to know each other, utilize the vast array of resources that Polsky avails to you and continue to evolve and test your concepts.  Remember everything is a work in progress.”

And then Brigitte answered some questions for fun:

You’re trapped on a desert island and can only choose one book to read, movie to watch, or album to listen to for the rest of your life. Which do you choose?

I would probably choose an album.  One of my favorites is the 2000 album “Voodoo” by D’Angelo.  I think I could probably listen to that repeatedly without going insane.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation. There are several places I would like to be but alas, distance is an issue. Beam me up!

What would the title of your autobiography be?

“Enjoy the Moments because Nothing Lasts Forever”
