Get Excited, Coffee Nerds — the French Press Can Be Improved

Chicago inventor Alexander Albanese says he’s created a better version of French press coffeemakers—he calls it the American Press. Albanese came up with the idea as a graduate design student at Northwestern University, where he saw colleagues making coffee with French presses. “I noticed these press pots still had grounds mashed in the bottom of them for days,” he says. “It was clear to me that people didn’t much like cleaning out their French presses.” Read more.
