A TIMELINE FOR THE 2024-2025 PROGRAM IS LISTED BELOW
September – May
- September 2024: Firms complete a survey outlining their criteria for an intern.
- October 7, 2024 at 12:00pm CT: PE/VC Lab info session – VIEW RECORDING
- October 7, 2024: Student application opens – APPLY NOW
- October 18, 2024 at 3:00pm CT: Student application deadline *Please note there is only one application deadline for both the winter and spring terms of the PE/VC Lab. If you intend to participate in the PE/VC Lab during any portion of the 2024-25 academic year, you must apply in alignment with the October 18th deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.
- October 23, 2024: Application materials and resumes are distributed to firms. Following resume distribution, students may be contacted by firms for interviews for either winter or spring quarter at any point.
- January 6, 2025 – March 15, 2025: Winter quarter PE/VC Lab course and internships take place.
- March 24, 2025 – May 30, 2025: Spring quarter PE/VC Lab course and internships take place.
General Timing Information
The Private Equity and Venture Capital Lab is a two-term commitment, including an application and selection process, a minimum 10 week internship, and a winter or spring term course. A full calendar is outlined below:
September – October
- Firms complete a profile outlining their criteria for an intern.
- Students apply to the program indicating up to 25 firms of interest.
- Student resumes are sent to participating host firms based on the firms of interest indicated on the student application.
October – February
- Firms review student resumes and select students they wish to interview for either winter or spring quarter.
- Interviews take place and firms make final decisions. Selected students gain entry into the course. In order to be enrolled in the Lab course, students must notify the Polsky Center of their selection by a firm with confirmation of their internship.
- Internships will begin on January 6, 2025 for winter quarter or on March 24, 2025 for spring quarter.
- Students will be enrolled in the course concurrent with their internship.
January – March
- January 6, 2025: Winter quarter Lab course (BUS 34702) and internships begin.
- Firms submit evaluations of their intern’s performance.
- March 15, 2025: Winter quarter Lab course and internships end.
March – May
- March 24, 2025: Spring quarter Lab course (BUS 34702) and internships begin.
- Firms submit evaluations of their intern’s performance.
- May 30, 2025: Spring quarter Lab course and internships end.
- International students on F-1 or J-1 visas must conclude PE/VC Lab internships no later than May 30, 2025.
Summer
- Students not on international visas may continue their internships into the summer, depending on the respective firm’s need and resources. This is discussed on an individual basis between the student and the firm.
