The Chicago Booth Search Fund Investor Summit is an annual event that connects search fund investors with University of Chicago students and alumni who are raising search funds. Student and alumni must apply to participate and are selected based on criteria including the creativity and merits of the acquisition sourcing strategy, rationale behind targeted industries, value creation thesis, and perceived fit of these with the prospective searchers’ backgrounds. Those selected to present at the summit will receive support in and feedback on the development of their private placement memoranda (PPMs) and the execution of their final presentations.
The Investor Summit is of great value to investors and search funders alike. Investors have the unique opportunity to meet and evaluate several prospective searchers, who have 10-15 minutes to present to and field questions from the investors. The presentations are intended to be an informal starting point for future discussions, and more in-depth conversations are possible during a networking reception following the presentations or in meetings after the summit. In turn, prospective searchers will have the opportunity to kick off or continue their fundraising with access to a select group of investors representing some of the brightest minds in business today with deep experience in acquisitions, operations, private equity, and entrepreneurship.
