The IT Services Polsky TechBar, located in the café area of the Polsky Exchange North, provides convenient walk-up technology support, equipment lending, A/V support, and consulting for Polsky members and Incubator companies.
Having issues with your computer, connecting to the wireless, or configuring your mobile device? The Techbar offers walk-in support conveniently located in the heart of the Polsky Exchange. We can help with hardware, software, and mobile issues including software installation and repair, hardware diagnostic and replacement, as well as navigating technology resources at the Polsky.
The TechBar offers free equipment lending for all Polsky Members. Members can checkout:
- PC and Mac laptops
- Phone and laptop chargers
- Video cables and adapters
Laptops can be checked out for 8-hours, while chargers are available for 2-hour checkouts.
Need A/V support for a meeting at the Polsky? The TechBar can help your next meeting run smoothly whether it is giving a presentation or hosting a video conference. Each of the meeting rooms at the Polsky are equipped with Highfive video conferencing units that enable you to easily share your screen and video conference with clients, colleagues, and mentors. The UChicago App Challenge, run by IT Services in partnership with the Polsky Center, helps translate an idea for an app or great website into reality. Selected ideas receive 100 hours of work from IT Services and the chance to win $10,000 at the annual App Challenge finals. All Polsky Members and UChicago faculty, students and staff are welcome to enter. More information can be found online.
