Badar Al Lawati serves as the systems administrator at the University of Chicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Badar leads systems optimization for different technical tools across the Polsky Center. Badar also leads IT strategy and strategic systems integration for the Innovation Intelligence unit.
Prior to joining Polsky, Badar worked in product management, systems implementation, and digital transformation. Badar first joined the Polsky team in October 2021 as a consulting project manager for the Polsky Booth team. Prior to joining Polsky, Badar was an Adjunct lecturer teaching undergraduate classes in Information Systems, Information Technology, and E-commerce. Prior to academia, Badar worked across different industries, including banking, telecommunications, and technology consulting.
Badar is currently a PhD candidate, wrapping up his doctoral dissertation in computer & Information systems at DePaul University. He received his master’s in e-Commerce Technologies also from DePaul University (2011). Badar Received his bachelor’s degree with Honors in e-Commerce & Digital business from the University of Nottingham in the UK (2007).
Badar is a former Fulbright Scholar. He is also a Certified Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance, and a Microsoft Technology Associate in Cloud Technologies from Microsoft. Badar is a member of the Scrum Alliance, the Project Management Institute, and the Association of Information Systems.
