Negotiating Term Sheets with Guy Turner, MBA ’10
Guy Turner, MBA ’10, investor-in-residence at the Polsky Center, and Partner at Hyde Park Venture Partners explains one of the most exciting parts of the venture deal cycle: closing the deal. Guy will cover the important deal terms and mechanics as well as how to successfully negotiate and close. Guy will walk students through a term sheet and highlight the key components of a well-crafted VC deal and how to negotiate with an entrepreneur.
This workshop is targeted towards students who may seek VC funding in the future, those interested in pursuing venture capital as a career, and teams participating in the VCIC.
Guy cofounded Hyde Park Venture Partners in 2011 from Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on corporate strategy across a variety of industries. He spent his early career as a mechanical engineer with Raytheon and General Electric.
This event is an IIR workshop. The investor-in-residence program provides mentorship and coaching to University of Chicago Booth students interested in learning about and pursuing careers in private equity, venture capital, and entrepreneurship through acquisition. Successful Chicago-based investors are available to meet one-on-one with students throughout the academic year and host regular small group sessions and workshops.
