Duane Jackson is the founder of Jackson Private Capital (JPC), a merchant bank that provides objective and transparent advice as well as long-term, differentiated capital to family-owned and founder-run businesses. He has extensive experience across a wide range of public and private companies, large and small. Prior to forming JPC, Duane was an investment professional at BDT Capital Partners, a merchant bank focused on advising and investing in closely-held businesses. At BDT, he had broad responsibilities including sourcing and executing transactions, leading research initiatives across the firm, and assisting in the development of the firm’s approach to ESG. Duane was also previously a Toigo Private Equity Fellow at Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm that invests in enterprise software businesses. During the financial crisis, Duane served in the Chief Investment Office for the Troubled Asset Relief Program at the U.S. Treasury Department, where he assisted senior treasury officials in structuring and executing the government’s response. He began his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch. Duane earned a BBA in finance and international business from George Washington University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
