Managing Your Startup’s Data: Collecting, Protecting and Putting it to Work
According to The Economist, the world’s most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data. All companies collect and use data in many ways, but most startups don’t give enough thought to how they collect, protect, and maximize the value of their data.
Presented by a panel of experts, this workshop will discuss how to think about different types of data, where it comes from, and how to care for it. Whether your data is used by customers, employees , or other stakeholders (and likely all three), there’s probably more value you can extract from it. We’ll cover security, privacy, and regulatory concerns, such as when to keep data, and when to destroy it. We’ll also touch briefly on the technical side of things: basic types of databases, frontend vs. backend, and how to tell stories with data analytics.
