Global Forum: Innovation in Population Health: Personalized Whole Person Care

The third edition of the Global Forum: Frontiers of Health an event created by Instituto Lado a Lado pela Vida, a Brazilian Civil Society organization focused on healthcare advocacy, will bring together different agents in society for discussion. The goal is to outline paths and propose solutions for resolving urgent issues in public and supplementary health systems. We want to emerge with a firm agenda for change, rather than simply generate more content that cannot be applied in public policy actions or guide decisions in private sector. That means shaking up the perceptions of our participants, and stimulating them to think about the role they play in the health system.

This should entail examination of the relationship between the public and private spheres and their sustainability responsibilities. After all, steady increases to life expectancy will by 2050 lead to a doubling of the numbers of people in the world aged at least 60. Such population ageing and the social economic disparities are pressing challenges for both developed and developing nations alike, so creating universal health models that can be effectively implemented, is an urgent task. The major topic that will be in the agenda are: Population Health; Innovation in Healthcare; Incorporation of New technologies; Financing for health (Who pays the bill and how?); Infodemic and also, how to turnaround after this COVID-19 pandemic?

As part of the Forum, the Polsky Center’s Senior Manager of Science Ventures Dr. Shyama Majumdar, will moderate a keynote panel featuring Dr. Stacy Lindau, cofounder of NowPow, the Catherine Lindsay Dobson Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Professor of Medicine-Geriatrics at the University of Chicago, and Dr. Rodrigo Santa Cruz Guindalini, Clinical Oncologist, Oncologia D’Or and Member of the Scientific Committee for Instituto Lado a Lado pela Vida, on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:20 a.m. – 12:10 p.m. CT. Registration is required. View the event website for the full schedule. And register online.
