This informational session is for students interested in participating in the Polsky Center’s private equity programs, including the Booth Private Equity Case Challenge, Private Equity and Venture Capital Lab, and Sterling Partners Investment Thesis Challenge.
Chicago Booth Private Equity Case Challenge
The Chicago Booth Private Equity Case Challenge (PECC), is a case competition that enables teams of Booth students to assess the potential for a leveraged buyout of a publicly-listed company.
The winner of the Booth Private Equity Case Challenge is given the opportunity to advance to the Oxford Global Private Equity Challenge to compete against other top elite business school teams, where there will be two rounds of competition to determine a winner. The winning team of global finals rounds in Oxford will be awarded $5,000. In addition to participating in the Oxford competition, the Booth team will also have the opportunity to participate in treks to top private equity firms in London, attend the PE Forum in Oxford, and network with the faculty, students, and alumni in Oxford. Private Equity and Venture Capital Lab
The Private Equity and Venture Capital Lab was created for Chicago Booth students to learn firsthand about the private equity and venture capital industries. Through the combination of an intensive internship at a private equity or venture capital firm and an academic course, students become active participants in the analysis of real-world investment decisions made by seasoned investors and also learn to apply their academic frameworks to their internship experiences. Sterling Partners Investment Thesis Challenge
SPITC encourages students to form teams to conceive and propose an original investment thesis they wish to work on.
