Founder’s Story: Steve Lehmann
Steve Lehmann is the senior associate director of the George Shultz Innovation Fund at the Polsky Center and the founder of Threadies. Threadies creates trauma coping kits for children displaced by conflicts and disasters. Each kit, a specially designed teddy bear and a set of research-based “coping cards” is manufactured by women refugees in the West Bank. Today, Threadies are comforting thousands of children in refugee camps, hospitals, and in-formal settlements around the world. Steve will tell the Threadies founding story and touch on a number of topics – including customer discovery, fundraising, and social enterprise models – along the way.
