Entrepreneurship Essentials (E2): Sales 101
This session is designed for those with little to no sales experience looking for some quick, actionable tips to get better immediately. We will discuss the different types of sales skills necessary for early stage businesses versus more established organizations (and the implications of this for your business). We will touch on the different types of salespeople available and which is right for your business. We will cover the key aspects of the sales process and how to measure and manage your sales pipeline.
Michael Alter is Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship at Chicago Booth. Previously, Alter was the CEO of The Tie Bar, the #1 e-commerce destination for stylish men’s accessories, and prior to that, co-founder and president/CEO of SurePayroll, a SaaS technology company that is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Paychex®. He began his career in sales at IBM and received his MBA from Harvard Business School, before leading service operations at McKinsey and Company.
