Entrepreneurial Operations: Navigating Financing and Strategic Considerations in Family Businesses
Join EIR Jamie Shah, MBA ’13, and IIR Duane Jackson in an interactive workshop to discuss and analyze the perspectives and skills required to navigate complex operational and capital considerations specific to family businesses, whether you are an owner, operator, or investor. Through this workshop, students will role play and be led through thorny situations that will provide new perspectives.Jamie is a second generation operator at Chem-Impex, a family business focused on laboratory chemicals. She also served as the Chief Operating Officer of The Spice House, a family-founded and private equity backed company. Duane is the founder and CEO of Jackson Private Capital, a private equity firm that provides advice and long-term capital exclusively to family- and founder-led businesses.This interactive workshop is for current Booth students only and will be held in person at the Harper Center. We will share a short case for you to read in advance of this workshop, though there will also be some time within the workshop to read it if you don’t have the chance to read it before.
