Emerging Markets Summit
Emerging Markets Summit is the largest student-led emerging markets conference in the US. The summit will cover the latest trends in social impact as well as technology, finance and policy. Join us with 50+ speakers from 20 different countries and over 500 attendees to learn about emerging markets.
In the emerging markets, we have many successful local startups but very few of them manage to successfully export their ideas overseas. However, the success rate is higher for Silicon Valley startups. A number of them, such as FB, Uber, Twitter, etc. achieved worldwide recognition in a short time span. In our panel discussion, we hope to explore what drives Silicon Valley startups’ success, and our outlook on emerging market startups in an increasingly protectionist world (i.e. U.S. – China trade tension and the rise of protectionism in Europe and Asia).
The Polsky Center’s E.J. Reedy will moderate the Globalizing homegrown unicorns in an increasingly protectionist world at 10:30 a.m.
Additional panelist include //
- Pedro Uria-Recio, Head of Analytics, Axiata
- Cheryl Yeoh, Chief Marketing Officer, Tendermint
- Wenchi Yu, Head of Gloval Public Policy, VIPKID
