DOE Technology Commercialization Fund Webinar

This webinar will focus on how entrepreneurs and businesses can participate in Department of Energy’s upcoming Technology Commercialization Fund (TCF) call. DOE’s Office of Technology Transitions will share key information about the program and Jason Stolworthy, Vice Chair of the National Laboratory Director’s Council and Director of Technology Deployment of Idaho National Laboratory, will provide a practical guide and tips for how to find eligible technologies that match your area of technology interest, who to contact at the labs, and how to form a relationship with a National Laboratory to develop a TCF proposal. Eric Payne, Chair of the Battelle Commercialization Council and Commercialization Manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will share specific examples of TCF projects that were successful in the past, and examples of available technologies that could be the subject of a TCF project with a private company.

The TCF is a nearly $30 million funding opportunity that leverages the R&D funding in the applied energy programs to mature promising energy technologies with the potential for high impact. It uses 0.9 percent of the funding for the Department’s applied energy research, development, demonstration, and commercial application budget for each fiscal year from the Office of Electricity, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Office of Fossil Energy, and Office of Nuclear Energy. These funds are matched with funds from private partners to promote promising energy technologies for commercial purposes.
