Application Deadline: Entrepreneurship Courses for Science and Medicine

Graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, researchers, and faculty conducting scientific research and study at UChicago, Argonne, Fermilab, and Marine Biological Laboratory are encouraged to apply for Entrepreneurship for Science and Medicine.

This noncredit course will provide an introduction to the field of entrepreneurship, not only familiarizing participants with common topics and frameworks, but also introducing them to real-life entrepreneurs and investors. Given its audience, the course will have a special focus on entrepreneurship in scientific fields and how scientists can play a role in the commercialization of their research and inventions. The goal of the course is to provide a greater understanding around what it takes to bring a research discovery or idea to market for a larger societal impact.

Individuals interested in an introduction to entrepreneurship are encouraged to apply; neither a team nor an idea is necessary for acceptance. This course can serve as a precursor to or a continuation of the Polsky Center I-Corps Program. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory, and there is no cost to take the course. Space is limited – apply early. Please note: Chicago Booth students are not eligible for this course.

Application Deadline: Friday, September 18, 3:00 p.m. CT

Course Dates: The Fall 2026 course will take place from 5:00–8:00 p.m. CT on Tuesdays on the following dates:

The course will be held in person at the Chicago Booth School of Business’s Harper Center (5807 S Woodlawn Ave). The October 13 class will be at Hyde Park Labs (5207 S Harper Ave).
