Tribetayling and Pronto Advance to GNVC Finals

On January 29, MBA teams competed at the semi-finals of the 2017 Global New Venture Challenge (GNVC) in Chicago. Waverly Deutsch, clinical professor of entrepreneurship at Chicago Booth and the professor for the Global New Venture Challenge (GNVC), along with a panel of distinguished judges and venture capitalists selected which two teams, out of seven, would move onto the finals after listening to teams present their business plans.

Teams participating in the semi-finals included GamerFx, Intelligent Labor Designs, Pronto, SkyEYE Aerial, Tribetayling, Workforce Street, Inc., and Yaddi. In the end, Tribetayling and Pronto emerged victorious and were selected by the judges to advance to the GNVC finals.

Tribetayling is a mobile application that provides a proprietary secure email communication solution, which enables user to store, manage and transact its personal information such as email, phone number, and address from a secure data gateway in any B2B, B2C, C2C communication.

Pronto technology platform uses wearables, smartphones, and smartcards to enable speedy and secure transactions and enhances the fan experience while boosting revenues while delivering valuable customer insights for event organizers. Pronto is a paradigm shift, but is as simple as tap and go. It’s your ticket, wallet, loyalty card, and parking pass all-in-one.

These two companies from Chicago will face off against the winners of the Hong Kong and London semi-finals on March 16 at the 2017 GNVC finals.

Now in its tenth year, the GNVC is an expansion of the top-ranked Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge, and is designed exclusively for Chicago Booth’s executive MBA students. It debuted in 2008 to accommodate the growing entrepreneurial aspirations of Booth’s executive MBA students on each of its three global campuses—North America, Europe, and Asia. The program is run by the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in collaboration with the Executive MBA program at Chicago Booth.
