The Polsky Center works closely with companies and foundations that sponsor research at UChicago by providing funds to support a research project of mutual interest. These shared projects enable both the sponsor and the University to advance knowledge and novel solutions to society’s pressing challenges.

Investing in New and Joint Ventures
The Polsky Center invests in technologies and startups developed by University faculty, students, and other affiliated researchers, through opportunities such as the George Shultz Innovation Fund and the Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge. We also work closely with companies, foundations and other outside organizations to invest in new ventures and joint ventures. Tech Commercialization
The Polsky Center works closely with faculty and affiliated researchers to help them transform their groundbreaking ideas and discoveries into products, services, and ventures. We support startups during the complex commercialization process across all industries and have launched more than 90 research-based startups, enabling faculty, students and researchers to apply their technologies to critical problems impacting society.
